I have been teaching Wayne State University?s small business classes in the Detroit area for almost 30 years. (www.wayne.edu). Before working at Wayne State, I spent 7 years as a Consulting Manager with PriceWaterhouseCoopers one of the largest consulting and accounting firms in the world. Some of my clients included: Diamond Crystal Salt, Total Petroleum, Kmart, Detroit Edison, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, University of Michigan, and Unisys. There I learned many of the tax saving activities and management improvements that large companies use. When I started working at Wayne State, I observed that small businesses have many of the same problems that large companies have...but without the resources to pay consultants $300+ an hour to help solve them.
